从动态顺应的视角看戏剧翻译——以《茶馆》为例

A study of drama translation from the perspective of dynamic adaptation——A Case Study of Two English Versions of Teahouse

顺应论是维索尔伦提出的,顺应性是指语言使用者能从可供选择的不同语言项目中做出灵活地选择,以达到交际的需要。比较而言,英(英若成)译更能体现跟语境、结构相关的时间、社会因素对音义动态生成的影响,霍(霍德华)译因缺乏在文化预设、观众文化期待及语境方面的考虑而显得死板些。

The theory of adaptation was put forward by J.Verschueren.Adaptability refers to ＂the property of language which enables human beings to make negotiable linguistic choices from a variable range of options in such a way as to approach points of satisfaction for communicative needs＂.By comparison,we find that the translated version of Teahouse by Ying Ruocheng always takes into account the influence of temporal and social factors related to context and structure on the dynamic generation of meaning,while that by John Howard-Gibbon seems rigid due to its lack in consideration of cultural presupposition,cultural expectation of audience and context.
