Shibangou gold deposit is an mesothermal lode gold deposit hosted by ductile brittle shear zone. In this paper, based on the studies of fluid inclusions trapped in quartzes, the ore forming fluid characteristics are discribed, the depositional mechanisms of Au from ore forming fluid are discussed, and the ore genesis of this deposit is revealed. It is suggested that the formation of structural alteration rock type orebodies may be mainly related with the hydrothermal alteration such as pyritization, sericitization and silicification, and the deposition of gold from ore forming fluids responsible for quartz vein type orebodies may be genetically related with the mixing of magmatic fluid and metamorphic fluid. It has been proved that there appears to be a clear genetic connection between gold mineralization and the magmatism formed at Variscan orogeny stage. The ore forming materials of the deposit, such as Au, originated dominantly from magmatic body named Gangou intrusive body intruded at Jinning orogeny stage and ore forming fluids originated primarily from the intrusive body called Shitangshan granite intruded at Variscan orogeny stage.
