Caiyong＇ s whole life starts and ends with the regime of the Emperor Shun, Huan and Ling, the time when Eastern Han Dynasty declined and collapsed. Caiyong, a versatile and knowledgeable man, was born in a aristocrat family, and has more extensive friendship. He has given a lot of help to descendant scholar in his whole life with either the praise or recommendation to Caocao, Bi- arang, or to Wangcan, Ruanyu, Guyong, all of which are highly praised by the later generations. The purity and honesty in his character displayed in these activities as well. Being a highly influential figure, he is a transitional representative figure from Eastern Han Dynasty to Wei Jin. Through checking his friend - making activities, it is conducive for us to understand the integrated style within the intellectual circles at the end of Han Dynasty.
