刘菊初先生教育思想初探

Education Thought of Liu Juchu

清末举人刘菊初先生是柳林县薛村镇高红村人,他出生于半殖民地半封建的旧中国,亲历了新旧政权的变革交替。先生毕生投身教育事业,辗转执教于柳林、离石、平遥、兴县等地,后创办了贺昌中学并连任校长直至75岁离世,为吕梁山培养了一大批人才。著名的革命人士贺昌、刘墉如、牛荫冠,教育家辛安亭等皆受业于他。先生倡导的基本教育思想,一是教育兴国,教师以教育为天职;二是学生学有所成;三是教育与生产实践相结合。这些教育思想至今仍有其积极的意义。

Liu Juchu was born at Gaohong,Xuecun,Liulin county of semi-colonial and semi-feudal China at the end of Qing Dynasty,he had experienced the new and old regime change constantly,he has dedicated his life to the cause of education,he ever taught at Liulin,Lishi,Pingyao,Xingxian,later and after high school he founded Hechang middle school and was the president until he was dead at the age of 75 years old,he had trained a large number of talented people for Lvliang,such as the famous revolutionary Hechang,Li Yongru,Niu Yinguan,educator Xin Anting and so on.He advocated basic education thoughts,firstly,making the country strong by education,the teachers take education as his own mission;secondly,the students learn well;thirdly,education is lied in production practice,these education thoughts has still positive significance.
