The 2 × 930MW Lippendorf power plant will be the second large power plant, to be built in the lignite fields of eastern Germany. Employing supercritical steam conditions and high reheat temperature, the plant will operate with a net efficiency of 42.4 per cent. It is one of the highest levels achieved for lignite-fired plant worldwide.The first unit will go on line in October 1999.
