摘要
中国古典名著《红楼梦》体现了中华民族的语言文化特色,杨宪益、戴乃迭所译的英文本A Dream of Red Mansions堪称《红楼梦》英译的上乘之作。本文从中西思维的差异视角,运用韩礼德的篇章衔接理论,挖掘英汉语篇在衔接上存在差异的内在原因,揭示汉英主语省略差异的深层成因。
Hongloumeng as a Chinese classic novel , its words exhibit Chinese linguistic and cultural characters. And its English version A Dream of Red Mansions famous translated version . Based on the cohesion theory back differences in thought patterns between Chinese and by Yang Xianyi ＆ Glady Yang is almost the best and promoted by Halliday and Hasan , this essay traces English contributing to differences cohesive devices used in Hongloumeng and its English version A Dream of Red Mansions. Further, the differences on ellipses of subject existing in Chinese and English versions.
