摘要
认知语言学认为,隐喻是人们思维的一种重要方式,可以激发和建构概念。隐喻所具有的认知特性:顺序性、相似性和映射性,赋予了其特定的语篇功能,如衔接、连贯以及语篇组织策略等。在商业英语语篇教学中,如何充分利用隐喻的语篇功能进行词汇教学,指导学习者的联想记忆,扩展词汇网络;如何借隐喻的语篇功能指导学习者理解语篇结构,从而让他们最大量地获取和掌握语篇所传递的信息,辨认要点以及主题内容。
From the perspective of the cognitive linguistics,metaphor is one of the powerful cognitive tools for our conceptualization of abstract categories.This paper discusses the inherent cognitive traits of metaphor:sequence,conti-guity-relations and mapping-relations,which endow metaphor with discourse functions,such as developing lexical co-hesive networks,enhancing discourse coherence and contributing to the organizational strategies.Further,this paper also explores the application of metaphor discourse functions in the business passage teaching in terms of vocabulary teaching and passage-understanding.
