摘要
计算机应用的普遍性使得主板诊断卡(power on self test card,POST卡)成为一种必备Debug工具。在学习LPC(low pin count)总线协议、各信号定义的基础上,对LPC总线的操作时序进行了重点研究。同时结合VHDL硬件描述语言,最终设计出一种基于LPC总线的主板诊断卡。经实际使用,该主板诊断卡报告错误的能力远远超过BIOS自身通过铃声报错的能力,能帮助使用者迅速找出计算机故障的原因和部位。
The universal application of computer makes POST card becoming an indispensable Debug tool.Based on the study of LPC bus protocol and its signals definition,the timing of LPC bus is researched focally.Meanwhile,with the combination of VHDL hardware description language,the POST card based on LPC bus is designed finally.Through practical application,the ability of this POST card to report errors themselves far exceeds the capacity of BIOS by ringing.This POST card can quickly identify the causes and location about motherboards,which is very helpful for users.
