Du Fu’s poems compiled by Tang Boyuan records vividly the complicated feelings of a scholar in the late Ming Dynasty, and it has enormous artistic value. The perspective of the cultural psychology in it shows that it has identification in anxiety awareness and conscious selection in poetic thoughts but also the influence from the learning practice of returning to the past in Ming Dynasty. It is also the result from the loneliness typical of the scholars of the Theory of Principles in the late Qing Dynasty. Tang Boyuan’s compilation of Du Fu’s poems is a literary phenomenon that should not be ignored. It has value for reference in the poem emendation.
