社会主义诞生一个半多世纪以来,经历了几次高潮和低潮的交替,特别是在20世纪80年代末90年代初,东欧剧变,苏联解体,世界社会主义运动遭遇严重挫折。邓小平在危难之时稳住了中国的阵脚;在改革之中丰富和发展了科学社会主义学说;在低谷逆境中开创了中国社会主义发展的新阶段。

Since its naissance for over a century,socialism experiences the alternation of some climax and some hard times especially from the end of 1980＇s to the beginning of 1990＇ that world socialist movement encountered the serious frustration because of the drastic changes in eastern Europe and the disintegration of the former Soviet Union.DENG Xiao-ping stood upon the array position of China at crisis： enriching and developing the scientific socialism theory in the reform and creating the new development period of socialism in the trough and adversity conditions.
