The subject-centered reason, taking a literary work as an object, intends to grasp and replicate the meaning of the work through analysis and abstraction.The reduction and conceptualization of reason may yet deprive the literary work of its life aura, and consequently turn it into rigid conceptual repetition with no more representation of its artistic nature.The work itself has thus become an instrument of reason which ＂transforms the foreign into the self＂.
