小说的成功与否在于其人物的塑造,而人物塑造的成功与否取决于其对话语言。《红楼梦》的两个翻译版对王熙凤对话语言的处理,对于探讨如何翻译小说人物语言的标准以及应当侧重的方向起到鲜明的导向作用。
The success of a novel lies in its characters＂ shaping; while a character＇s image is always determined by the character＇s language. By means of comparing and contrasting translations of Wang Xifeng＇s language in two English versions of ＂A Dream of Red Mansion＂, this essay discusses the criteria of good translations of characters＂ conversation languages and explores the related translation strategies.
