西欧城市的复兴和城市自治运动的发生、发展是商业兴盛推动的结果。西欧城市在取得自治以后,又从各个方面不断地推动城市的商业活动,使得城市的经济和政治实力大为增强,往往成为一个地方的经济中心,并向四周扩展以扩大贸易规模。随着这些城市贸易的发展,西欧贸易区初步形成。

The revival of cities as well as the occurrence and development of city autonomous campaign were the corollary of the commercial prosperity in Western Europe.After the cities gained autonomy,they constantly promoted commercial activities;as a result,the economic and political powers were strengthened.A city was often the economic center in an area and tended to expand its trade scale.With the development of the trade in the cities,the trade areas took initial shape.
