On the Trade of Modern Henan with the Commercial Ports

近代河南依靠传统水路和快捷的现代化铁路与六大通商口岸实现了对接。凭借子口税的特权,近代河南较早地与通商口岸开始了贸易往来,从而使近代河南成为上海、天津等六大通商口岸的经济腹地。双方在经贸上的互动,刺激了近代河南农业、畜牧业和手工业产品的商品化,促进了近代河南外向型经济的兴起。

In modern times,Henan successfully achieved the link-up with the six biggest trading ports both by traditional waterways and the modern and fast expressways and railways.Due to the privilege of transit dues,modern Henan began to trade with the trading ports earlier in the past,making Henan the economic hinterland of the six trading ports,say,Shanghai,Tianjing and so on.The economic interaction between Henan and these trading ports has stimulated the commercialization of Henan′s agriculture,animal husbandry and handicraft industry.All of these spurred the rise and development of export-oriented economy in modern Henan.
