Compostim and main functions of underwater drilling equipments in a semi-submersible offshore drilling rig are introduced in this paper. Ocean drilling programs and basic working principles of various parts are anglyged, with the casing system and BOP system focused on. It is concluded that there is a big distance between china＇s offshore drilling technology and the world advanced level, with which the way to catch up is pointed out.
