Xia Tian-min. a renowned novelist from Zhaotong has successfully created a series of female images which give the readers a deep insight into the lives of the women on Wu Meng plateau and reveal the real and original living con- ditions of the women living in China^s poverty-stricken areas. More importantly, the writer attempted to discuss and pro- pose the way to realize the self-emancipation of women in his works which is a practical refection of the development of feminism works.
