＂Imperial Woman＂is a book by Pearl S.Buck about the life of the Empress Dowager Cixi.Due to translation,it has not been given due attention in China.In combination with the western and the Chinese narra-tive,Pearl S.Buck,using her own unique perspective of Chinese and Western cultural mutual infiltration,demon-strates the Empress traditional and independent personality for readers.On the one hand,her works describes a strong woman as a female ruler,Empress,characterizes delicately an empress＇s rich emotional changes,which highlights feminist awareness and enriches the character of the Empress.
