On Interpretation Strategies in Cultural Communication

口译不是简单的语际信息传输,而是借助语言转换进行的动态文化交流活动。鉴于东西方两种文化的差异,译者在翻译时要切实考虑目的语接受者的文化接受能力和期待,尽可能准确地传递原语信息。基于德国功能主义翻译理论学派的目的论,探讨实现有效文化传播的口译策略对英汉口译研究具有积极的意义。

Interpretation is not a simple transmission of information between languages but some kind of dynamic cultural communication through language transformation. Given various cultural differences between the West and the East, an interpreter should take the cultural receptivity and anticipation of the recipients in the target language into comideration and accordingly employ some appropriate strategies or approaches in interpretation, which can make an accurate transmission of information possible. Based on the Skopotheory of the German Functionalism, the paper explores effective interpretation strategies for efficient cultural communication, which is of great significance to English-Chinese interpretation study.
