摘要
When you enter Wang Guanqin’s house, your eyes immediately focus on the various embroidered shoes that sit on the shelf. Why? The shoes—such as the phoenix-shaped shoes and the purple three-cun lily shoes(worn by Chinese women who bound their feet) dotted with pomegranate blossoms—are rare works of art.In fact, some of the shoes can be seen in historical films; therefore, one would not expect to see the shoes in Wang’s Beijing home! The shoes, created by Wang, are so special that,in April 2008,she was designated,by China’s Ministry of Culture,as a representative inheritor of Beijing’s intangible cultural heritage.
