康有为对中国民主革命持反对意见、怀担忧之情。他认为,中国当时的革命是"大义暗而不明",骤行革命是"弊大于利",在中国须行"大革命",革命应该渐进而非激进。这些看法,由康有为的政治立场决定,也与当时历史背景的影响密切相关,对其看法应结合当时的国情予以理解、评价,才更为客观。
