摘要
"大众"一词在不同的语境中具有不同的含义。19世纪"大众社会"的兴起赋予该词政治、社会、心理三方面语义;20世纪的文化批判理论在整合原有三个语义场的同时,赋予该词一项新语义——文化精英关照自身的镜像;后现代消费社会中,精英和大众融为一体,"大众"又成为构建现实的拟像。
The present article makes a study into the semantic change of 'the mass'.In the 19th century,with the rise of the 'mass society','the mass' was endowed with three meanings,i.e.,political,sociological and psychological meanings.20th Century cultural critique integrates the three semantic fields and adds a new one: mirror image of the cultural elite.In the postmodern consumerist society,the gap between the elite and the mass is bridged,and 'the mass' becomes the simulacra through which a sense of reality is constructed.
