找寻20世纪中国文学的"现代性",一直是当代中国文学研究的一个热点。事实上,对文学的"现代性"的追寻并不是一个单纯的中国现代文学的研究话题,而是一个世界性的文学理论课题。"现代戏剧"和"现代性"在20世纪上半叶中国的提出和探讨表明,世界小剧场运动影响下的中国现代戏剧从其发端开始就自觉地跻身于世界性的戏剧发展潮流之中,中国现代戏剧对"现代性"的追寻是学习、借鉴西方现代戏剧的必然结果。

The identifying of the modernity of the twentieth century Chinese literature has been one of the focuses of the studies of contemporary Chinese literature.In fact,it is not merely one of research focuses in the studies of modern Chinese literature,but also one of the subjects of studying literature of the world.The emergence of modern Chinese theatre and its seeking for modernity in the first half of the 20th century manifest that since its ushering under the influence of the World Little Theatre Movement,modern Chinese drama is by no means independent of the trend of the development of theatre throughout the world,and its seeking for modernity has special significance.
