A study on the function of information technology in language learning from the distributed cognition perspective

本文从分布式认知理论视角探讨了信息技术在语言学习中的作用。分布式认知理论认为信息技术在语言学习中不应只是信息呈现工具，更应是学习者的认知工具。它强调信息技术在语言学习中的应用应以协同建构有意义知识为目标，是学习理论的又一次创新。文章最后举例说明了一种可行的基于信息技术的大学英语学习新模式。

This paper explores the function of information technology in language learning from the distributed cognition perspective, pointing out that information technology should be regarded as cognitive tool instead of presentation tool in language learning. It reaches the conclusion that the goal of employing technology in language learning is to construct mean- ingful knowledge collaboratively. Finally, the paper illustrates a feasible college English learning model with an example.
