Dear Pharmacists： Pain is often the primary complaint noted by patients and clinicians during the initial health care interview. It is also the initial reason why patients seek medical assistance. Pain is now considered by World Health Organization （WHO） as the fifth vital sign after blood pressure, pulse, body temperature and respiratory rate. As pharmacists, we are often being consulted on pain related questions since pharmacotherapy is a major part of the treatment regimen.
