Expounding the Double-Diplomacy of the British Government During the First World War in the Near and Middle East

第一次世界大战期间,英国在中近东地区实施双轨外交,对土耳其亚洲领土做出了互为矛盾的承诺,试图将法国和阿拉伯王公都纳入自己的战略体系。本文着重分析英国政策实施过程中遇到的诸多矛盾,探讨英国不断调整政策的根源和实质,阐释英国对阿拉伯人的食言和背叛在阿拉伯世界造成的恶劣影响。

This dissertation is an analysis of the factors which shaped British double-diplomacy policy during the First World War in the Near and Middle East.It explains why Britain made a contradictory promise which satisfied the aspirations of both France and the Arabs on the same Turkish territory in Asia,reveals why the British government gradually changed her policy,and shows that Britain＇s betrayal on the Arabs had an abominable influence in the Arab world.
