旅游是什么?这是旅游研究中不能回避的核心问题。然而由于种种主客观原因,国内外学者对其研究可谓见仁见智,至今仍未达成共识。当前,随着旅游活动在人类日常生活中的地位与作用日益凸显,明确旅游的概念更成为旅游学界与业界共同致力的课题。综合当下有关旅游的概念的研究基础,着眼于旅游发展的历史回顾、当前旅游发展现状的理解以及未来旅游发展趋势的思考,对其科学概念的形成会有积极意义。

What is tourism？ This is an inevitable and key question in the study of tourism. Due to objective and subjective reasons, however, domestic and foreign scholars have not yet reached a consensus on this research. With the prominent status and role of tourism activities in daily life, a clear concept of tourism has become a very important topic among the tourism academia and business community. It will be of active significance to the for- mation of its scientific concept if we synthesize the research base of tourism concept at present and focus on tourism development history, current status of the understanding of tourism development as well as the future trend of tourism development.
