The Economic and Political Functions of Borderers′ Trade:A Case Study of Pinghe Township of Lüchun County

边民互市是边境地区常见的经济贸易活动。从绿春县平和乡边民互市的情况可以看出,边民互市具有增加边民收入,促进地方经济社会发展的作用。边民互市不仅加强了两国边民的联系,增强了两国边民的了解,更重要的是,对增强我国边民的国家认同感起到重要作用,客观上达到"怀柔远人"的作用。

Borderers′ trade is a common economic activity in border areas.This case study of borderers′ trade in Pinghe Township reveals that such trade can increase their incomes and promote the local development.More importantly,it can help strengthen both the national identity of the Chinese borderers and the contact between the borderers of the two countries,that is,it has the function of improving the political and economic relations between the two countries.
