ZHENG Ban-qiao's Aesthetic Ideas

郑板桥是清代扬州八怪的杰出代表,不仅有"三绝诗书画",且有完美系统的美学思想。对生活与创作、传统与创新、意与境、美与丑、雅与俗、艺品与人品、画内功与画外功等美学命题,都有自己的体会。特别是他的"眼中之竹"、"胸中之的"和"手中之竹"三段论,精辟而深刻地论述审美创造的全过程和内在规律,对今天的审美创造仍有借鉴意义。

Zheng Banqiao is a prominent representative of Yang Zhou Eight Eccentrics.He is talented in versification,calligraphy and drawing,furthermore,he has a systematic aesthetic thought of his own.He experiences and acquires a lot from daily life,and he has his own idea on subjects such as life and creation,tradition and innovation,emotion and atmosphere,beauty and ugliness,elegance and vulgarity,art taste and moral quality,drawing attainments inward and outward.Especially,his remarks on three stages of drawing bamboos namely ＂bamboos in the eye＂,＂bamboos in the breast＂ and ＂bamboos in the hands＂ incisively demonstrate the whole process and the internal law of aesthetic creation which benefit much to us today.
