摘要
通过考察蒯因对翻译之不确定性的表述和他对事实性概念的运用,着重关注他对物理(事实)与翻译之间关系主张的辩护上,并尤其注重他的"物理学存在着事实性而翻译倒不存在着事实性"的主张。本文将由三个方面展开:翻译的不确定性命题与内涵,蒯因对翻译的不确定性的辩护和翻译的不确定性的本体论承诺。
This paper investigates Quine＇ s expression of indeterminacy of translation and his use of concept of factuality, focusing on his argument of relationship between physics （fact） and the translation, especially on his argument that there is a fact of the matter to physics but not so to translation. This discussion will be unfolded from three aspects ： the connotation of indeterminacy of translation, Quine＇ s defense of indeterminacy of translation, and ontological commitment of indeterminacy of translation.
