淮河文化是淮河流域的地域文化。淮河文化的形成受族群活动的影响十分明显。淮河文化在空间上生成于淮上地区独特的地理环境中;在时间上,淮河文化萌芽于新石器时代,定型于春秋战国时期;在内容上,淮河文化的形成,受周边文化,特别是北方中原文化和南方荆楚文化的强烈影响,显示出淮河文化具有很强的兼容性。南北文化与淮上地区固有的土著文化,在淮上地区交融,孕育并催生了淮河文化。
