The U.S. social security system plays a role of protective device, safety valve and regulation, and thus has become an integral part of the modern American capitalist system. However, it faces the financial crisis, the work ethic crisis and family crisis and other problems. As the population is going into the aging state, the aging crisis joins those as a major social problem.
