谈网络环境下高校编目员的职能更新

Discussion on the Functional Update of University Catalogers under Network Environment

从数字时代诸多需要简要论述高校编目员必须更新职能;从成为执证编目员、建立特色数据库、开展电子资源编目、参考咨询服务、从事数字图书馆工作等5个方面阐述网络环境下高校编目员的新职能;从树立良好职业道德、具备良好专业知识和业务水平、具有较高外语水平3个方面提出网络环境下高校编目员的新素质。强调图书馆编目是图书馆最基础的重要工作,高校馆员面对"高智力"群体人才,相应的给高校馆员提出高层次要求。建议制定《图书馆法》,以法确定我国图书馆员的专业地位。

This paper briefly demonstrated the necessity of upgrading functionalities for university librarians in digital era.Under network environment,university librarians’ new responsibilities should include becoming licensed librarian,developing specialized databases,indexing electronic resources,consulting services and working in digital libraries.The new qualifications for university librarians should consist of establishing excellent professionalism,having good knowledge of specialty and possessing the ability to communicate in foreign languages.The paper also stated that library indexing is the most important task in the libraries and university librarians have to meet a higher level of requirements for working for ＂high intellectual＂ talent groups.The paper suggested the enactment of ＂Library Law＂ to define the professional status for Chinese librarians.
