Russia and an Ascendant China

随着中国的崛起,在俄罗斯出现了"中国威胁论",特别是认为中国在远东地区进行了"人口扩张主义政策"。这些看法产生的原因主要在于俄媒体的负面报道、俄部分"政治家、经济学家"的煽动,以及俄政府用以转移本国人民对政府的失望。近几年,中俄两国经济贸易量急剧下降,两国民调都表明俄中两国人民需要不断加强联系并积极互动。俄罗斯的政治、经济及社会的发展离不开中国,而两国的强大及友好关系必将是世界和平与稳定的重要因素。

With China's rapidly rising status in the world,there has been the so-called 'China threat theory,' in response to China's policy toward the Far Eastern regions,especially to the Chinese 'demographic expansion' there.In recent years,the trade volume between China and Russia has been drastically reduced.In any case,according to most surveys the anti-Chinese feelings have significantly lost its popularity in the Russia's Far East over recent years where people turned to practical cooperation with China.Russia and China should proactively increase their interaction and cooperation.Russia's political,economical,and social developments have a strong inclination to rely on China and the two countries' strong ties and friendship will definitely play a key role in helping to establish and maintain global peace in the future.
