摘要 掺铒光纤放大器(EDFA)在980nm泵浦下,可简化为二能级系统.忽略放大自发辐射(amplifier spontaneous emission,ASE),从速率方程出发,在稳态情况下,由Newton-Raphson叠代法得出的亚稳态能级粒子数分布,得输入功率的解析表达式,从而进行放大器增益特性的理论及实验研究.引入随时间改变的余弦功率信号作为传输信号或者泵浦的调制,得到亚稳态能级的粒子数分布的相位及振幅调制表达式,并由此得增益调制特性的数值解析模型,对最后模拟结果进行了分析讨论. The erbium-doped fiber amplifiers pumped by 980 nm-laser can be simplified into two level system.Neglecting amplifier spontaneous emission,we obtained the population of metastable state in steady-state case by Newton-Raphson iteration from EDFA rate equation.Introducing a sinusoidal time variation power as modulation of signal or pump,we got the expression for amplitude and phase modulation of population of metastable state.We got the numerical analytic model of gain modulation and discussed about last simulation results.
