文物修复保护理念、原则是保护修复工作者在实际工作中的指导思想,是修复者对其保护修复的文物处理到何种程度的一种度的把握。中西方文化背景的不同产生了较大的差异,针对中西方的不同点进行了理论性的探讨,介绍了文物医生的工作性质,提出了"没有绝对标准,只有因病施治、原则性与灵活性的有机组合、不以唯美至上"的原则、标准,强调了"将一件件包含着准确、完整历史信息的文物流传给子孙后代,这是历史赋予我们的责任"的重要性。

Ideological concepts and principles of protection and restoration of antiques guide operators in deciding to what degree the bronzes should be restored. Due to cultural differences, there are different views of these principles in the east and the west countries. There differences are discussed. The idea of ＂antique doctors＂ is introduced. The following principles are suggested：absolute standards do not exist;each case should be treated individually ; basic rules should be used flexibly ; aesthetics is not the final standard of judgment. The importance of preserving accurate and complete historical information of the antiques for the future generations is emphasized. This is our responsibility.
