《癌症楼》与《男人的一半是女人》书写的都是政治动乱背景下的爱情。爱情在专制的政治体制压迫下转变成为一种性的本能,也就具有了一种苦难的性质。我们在这两部作品中不难发现男主人公都经历了从爱的苏醒、追求、矛盾到幻灭的过程,然而由于不同作者文化背景的不同使这一过程的展现具有了不同的性质内涵。

Cancer House and Half of Man Is Woman are all written in the background of the political unrest.Love turned into a kind of instinct under the authoritarian political system,which brings it a kind of suffering in nature.It＇s obvious that both of the male characters in these two works have gone through the four phases of love：awakening,pursuit,conflicting and then disillusionment.However,different authors make this process different in nature because of different cultural backgrounds.
