Investigation on Translation of Names of Local Government Departments

通过调查发现,地方政府职能部门名称的翻译存在着拼写错误、用词不当、语法错误、词序混乱、职能部门权限范围扩大或缩小、简称的误译等错误。产生错误的原因是翻译技巧不能灵活运用,翻译能力不济。提高标牌制作者、翻译者的素质,出台相关的全社会通用的法规或标准,翻译界的关注等可以减少错误。

Through investigation,translation mistakes of names of local government departments are made in spelling,choice of words,grammar,word order,short titles,broadening or narrowing the rights of some departments and etc.The reasons for the mistakes are inadequate translation skills and lower translating competence of the translators.The mistakes can be lessened if the quality of the makers or translators is improved,relative laws or regulations are issued for the whole society or attention is paid to by all translators.
