In the paper,the basic concept of kaizen（continuous improvement） is introduced.By focusing on the kaizen index and the kaizen method,the effects and the roles of continuous improvement on the research and development management are introduced and discussed.Data results show that continuous improvement can make a dramatically change that lead the program to a much lean management.
