Course evaluation has become important means to ensure teaching quality of American higher education,and its normative and scientific evaluation index is worthy of concern.Taking Missouri-Columbia University as an example,the writer briefly introduces policies and characteristics of the course evaluation.The course evaluation in this university has not only clear teaching assessment purposes and reasonable norm but also strict procedures.In this university, both students’ leaning effectiveness and the complete teaching procedures are evaluated throughout the course evaluation,and its practice has some enlightenment for the course evaluation of Chinese universities.
