摘要
在外语教学中,外籍英语教师和中方英语教师各有优势和不足,因此,如何发挥其所长,弥补其不足,是我们需要研究的问题。本文就与英语教学相关的几个因素对122名英语专业学生作了调查。研究表明,在教师的"个性特点"、"语言能力"、"课堂教学能力"和"反馈特点"等直接因素中,外籍教师有一定的优势;在涉及"文化认同"、"社会环境"、"学生性格意识"等间接因素中,中方教师有一定的优势。
In EFL teaching, both the native and the non-native teachers of English have their own advantages and weaknesses. Therefore, it is worthwhile to explore the ways to bring into full play what they are good at and to supplement what they are lacking. This paper is intended to report the results of an investigation of 122 English majors’ appraisal of their foreign teachers and Chinese teachers of English in terms of some related factors such as "personality", "language ability", "teaching ability" and "feedbacks", "acculturation", "social adaptation" and "students’ personality awareness". The results show that, with the first four direct factors, the native teachers of English are advantageous over Chinese teachers of English who gain an upper hand in the last three indirect factors.
