Performance Analysis and Simulation of IPTV Transmission Models

摘要 IPTV作为互联网宽带视频应用的一种主要业务得到了快速发展。目前,IPTV业务在骨干/城域网中主要采用动态和静态两种组播路由模式。为了研究不同组播路由模式的适用场景,针对上述两种模式分别在时延和吞吐量上进行了理论分析和比较,并在不同的用户场景下进行了仿真测试。结果表明,当IPTV用户较少时,应采用动态组播模式以节省网络带宽资源;而在业务大规模部署后,IPTV用户大量增加,同时在线的IPTV频道数增多,动态组播模式在节省网络带宽资源上并没有显著优势,这时则应采用静态组播模式以实现频道间的快速切换。 As an important application of the Internet broadband multimedia,IPTV is developing rapidly.There are two transmission models used in present backbone/MAN,static multicast model and dynamic multicast model.In order to estimate these two multicast models,give analysis and comparison in time delay and throughput of the two models.Additionally,simulation is given in different user models.The results show that the dynamic multicast model should be adopted to save the resources of bandwidth in the early deployment phase when there are fewer users,while the static multicast model should be adopted to save channel switch time in the mature phase when there are many users and almost all IPTV channels are online at the same time,for dynamic multicast module has no remarkable advantage in saving bandwidth then.
