针对电网基础性建设对高压电力电缆的需求，说明了电缆管理任务的重要性，结合因电缆资料的非科学化管理，导致对电缆安全可靠运行造成隐患的现实困难，在分析传统电缆管理弊端的基础上，介绍了地理信息系统（GIS）在电缆管理系统中的应用，并通过对电缆管理GIS系统的原理及功能实现的具体说明，展示了GIS系统对提高电缆管理水平所发挥出的现实意义。

Based on the demand of network basic project for the high - voltage power cables, this paper states the importance of the cable management tasks. Combined with the reality for hidden danger of the safe and reliable operation of the cable resulted by the unscientific management of cable data, under the analysis of the disadvantages of the traditional cable management, the paper introduces the application of the geographic information system （GIS） in the cable management system, and shows the practical significance of the GIS system about improving the level of the cable management through the explanation of the principles and function realization of GIS system for the cable management.
