Challenge to the Discourse Authority on History from Mainstream American Society——The history construction in Maxine Hong Kingston's China Men

汤亭亭的《中国佬》采用改写中国的传奇故事和西方的文学经典、呈现有关过去的自相矛盾的版本、抵抗事实和想像的对立等叙事策略,整合传记与诗学,进行跨文类书写,颠覆统一叙事的观念,质疑并颠覆美国主流社会言说历史的权威,以不带权威的口吻建构有异于美国主流社会的另一个版本的美国历史,使不同版本的历史得以呈现,引发人们对历史的重新思考。

Maxine Hong Kingston,in her work China Men,adopted the narrative strategies of rewriting Chinese legends and western literary classics,presenting paradoxical versions of the past,resisting the antithesis of reality and imagination.She also boldly integrated biography and poetry,wrote between different genres,overturned the concept of consistent narration,queried and overturned the discourse authority on history from mainstream American society.She further,with unauthorative ring,constructed a new version of American history——a version different from that of the mainstream American society——which facilitates the exhibition of different versions of history and ultimately arouses people’s reconsideration on history.
