On Fromm's Productive Love

弗洛姆在其代表作《爱的艺术》和《为自己的人》中都阐发了真正的爱——成熟的爱的形态。弗洛姆认为,真正的爱是生产性的爱。生产性是弗洛姆性格学说的基本理论,而生产性和爱的结合则构成弗洛姆爱的理论的核心思想。他认为生产性是某种潜能的发挥,而生产性的爱则是爱的真正的本质,集中地体现在爱是给予,其形式是关心、责任、尊重和了解。

In his famous works The Art of Love and the Men for Himself, Fromm elaborates his ideas of the meaning of true love the form of mature love. Fromm maintains that true love is productive love. Productiveness is the fundamental theory of Fromm＇ s characteristic theory, and the combination of productiveness and love is the central idea of Fromm＇ s love theory. Fromm also holds that productiveness rests in the development of certain potential, and productive love is the essence of true love, which means that love is giving and which is in the forms of care, responsibility, respect and knowledge.
