从古代文献、多种地方植物志、药物志和标本采集记录及民间调查资料等方面,就民间将伞形科植物用于医药、食品、美容、香精和调味及饲料等内容进行了整理和小结.

From ancient literary works, floras of varied localieies and materia medica, study of notes on plant collection in herbaria and field investigation, the ethnob-otanical research materials on umbelliferous plants in China are summarized.These plants have been widely used as medicines, food, fooder, cosmetic, perfume, spice etc. among the peoples of China. A ethnobotanical list of umbels has been compiled as a supplement to the paper. It covers medicinal plants 141sp. , 16 var. 2 f.; food 29 sp. , 2 var., 2 f.; cosmetic 12 sp., 2 f. ; fooder 9 sp. ; spice 15 sp. This paper affords important reference materials for developing new plant resources of umbels.(Original article on page 221)
