从事设计工作达四十年之久的孙德珊在当今设计界可能知之者甚少，但当绝大多数人看到了他的遗作时，无不由衷赞叹。此现象在一定程度上引发了人们对20世纪中国现代设计和设计师命运的感慨和思考。杭间曾言“……似乎中国的现代艺术史只关心20世纪三四十年代渐露头角和由此成长的一代风云人物，而在当代，又走向另一追捧先锋前卫的极端，在这历史的中间，是一段空白……”。

This paper chooses Sun De Shan's fife and his design works of applique as case research.Sun De Shan got his education from professional academy of fine arts in the sixties of new China and he has the participation function that can't be ignored while we view the design history process of modern china.Through studying the author points out that:as to the Chinese design history and the native designers,the academia of our country is still very deficient to this field.So if we can probe into this case of Sun De Shan thoroughly,as to the research of Chinese modern design history,this will have double meaning of history and personal.
