Application of Data Envelopment Analysis in the Comprehensive TCM Clinical Effect Evaluation

既往中医疗效评价研究主要采用单维度疗效指标评价,缺乏将多个维度的指标同时考虑在内的综合分析。数据包络分析(DEA)是运筹学、管理学和数理经济学交叉研究的新领域,是一种非参数的经济估计方法,用于评价多个决策单元的相对有效性。由于DEA在处理多输入、多输出问题上的绝对优势,适用于中医复杂干预治疗方案的多指标综合评价研究。应用DEA方法进行中医疗效综合评价,有助于使中医疗效评价研究更加贴近临床实际。

In the past, researches on TCM clinical effect evaluation were mainly focused on single dimensional outcome measures, without the comprehensive analysis involving the multiple dimensional evaluations taken into consideration. Data envelopment analysis （DEA） is a new field of operational research, management science and a mathematical economics overlapping with each other and a non-parameter economical estimating method used to evaluate the relative validity of many policy-making units. Because of its over- whelming superiority in processing the multi-inputs and multi-outputs, DEA is applicable to make the comprehensive evaluation on multiple indices of the complicated TCM intervention treatment. Moreover, the application of DEA in the comprehensive evaluation of TCM effect is helpful to make the TCM effect evaluation studies more close to the clinical reality.
