Shrink and Expansion of Village Public Space

村庄公共空间得以维持离不开四个要件:公共场所、公共权威、公共活动与事件、公共资源。上世纪80年代以来,日益向乡村社会渗透的市场经济因素和导致乡村组织权威不断衰弱的农村政策使得公共空间不断萎缩,这个过程也是村庄日益陌生化,亲密社群、村庄共同体不断解体的过程。公共空间萎缩会导致的集体记忆衰退,引发农村社会的价值危机、伦理危机和治理危机。当前必须增加国家常规力量对农村的渗透,通过它们来鼓励扶持农民自组织,由此拓展社会公共空间。

It requires four elements to maintain village public space： public space, public authority, public activity and event, public resources. Since the 1980s, public space shrinks due to market economy, which has increasingly infiltrated into the rural society and countryside policies, which have weakened village authority. This is also the process of village strangeness, the breakup of intimate social groups and village communities. The declining collective memory resulted from the shrink of public space leads to value crisis, ethic crisis and governance crisis in the rural society. Currently, the infiltration of national regular forces into the countryside should be strengthened to encourage and support farmers＇ auto-organizations and therefore expand social public space.
