Song Poetry School Scholars and Qingliu Party

宋诗派文人群体与"清流党"渊源甚深,陈宝琛本是清流健将,陈三立、郑孝胥均为清流党弟子,他们的友朋中也有许多清流人物,但宋诗派和"浊流"即近代洋务派关系亦较为密切。本文旨在说明这是一个既有清流风骨,又通晓世界大势的维新群体,在近代史中有着举足轻重的地位。

Song poetry school scholars were closely involved with Qingliu Party. Chen Baochen was formerly an activist of Qinliu Party. Chen Sanli and Zheng Xiaoxu were disciples of Qinliu party, and many of their associates were Qiuliu people. Nevertheless, Song poetry school was also involved with Zhuoliu, i.e. near modern era advocates of learning from foreign countries. This essay emphasizes that song poetry school was a reform-active group who had both Qingliu spirit and the insight about world situation, holding very important status in near modern era history.
