Spiritual Life of Current Chinese Farmers:Issues and Optional Solutions

随着我国社会主义新农村建设步伐的加快,农民的物质生活不断丰富,但由于经济、政治、文化、社会等多方面的原因,我国农民精神生活领域还存在精神支柱缺失、精神生活贫乏、精神生活设施匮乏等问题。解决农民精神生活问题,提高农民精神生活质量是我国社会主义新农村建设重要而迫切的任务。

With the quickening of the construction of a ＂new socialist countryside＂ in China, farmers＇ material life is increasingly becoming satisfactory. The spiritual life of the farmers, however, still lags far behind for economic, political, cultural and social factors. Farmers are poor in spiritual life. They lack equipment for spiritual life and they have no spiritual prop. Accordingly, it becomes an urgent task for us to take measures to improve the quality of farmers＇ spiritual life before we can fulfil the task of the construction of a ＂new socialist countryside＂.
